Protein kinase C (PKC) mediates a wide range of biological responses, including serotonin release from platelets, histamine release from mast cells, glycogen hydrolysis in the liver, fat synthesis by adipocytes, and many others. PKC was described as a serine/threonine protein kinase activated by the presence of Ca2+, phospholipids, and sn-1,2 diacylglycerol (Nishizuka, 1986). In humans, PKC is found as 11 different isoforms which vary in amino acid sequence, structure, subcellular localization, tissue distribution, substrate specificity, and responses to extracellular signals.

Corresponding antibody P9103-19C recognizes the group 2 PKC isoform PKC delta, the most abundant PKC isoform expressed in hematopoietic tissues. Species Crossreactivity: Human. The antibody is expected to react with most mammalian species based on known homologies.

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume (see reconstitution instructions for peptides) and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
