It exerts a strong mitogenic effect on hepatocytes and primary epithelial cells. HGF synergizes with Interleukin-3 and GM-CSF to stimulate colony formation of hematopoietic progenitor cells in vitro. It may modulate hematopoiesis

• Biological Activity:The activity was assayed for scattering activity in the MDCK cell assay. The ED50 for this effect is typically at 1.0-5.0ng/ml (200,000-1,000,000 IU/mg).

• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with 50mM acetic acid. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
