特徴

• A 6kD polypeptide growth factor initially discovered in mouse submaxillary glands. Human epidermal growth factor was originally isolated from urine based on its ability to inhibit gastric secretion and called urogastrone. Epidermal Growth Factor exerts a wide variety of biological effects including the promotion of proliferation and differentiation of mesenchymal and epithelial cells.
• Recombinant protein corresponding to human Epidermal Growth Factor produced in Pichia Pastoris is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 51 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 6kD.

• Biological Activity:The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependant proliferation of murine BALB/c 3T3 cells (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <0.1ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e7 U/mg.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% HSA or BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
