• Recombinant human Angiostatin is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 259 amino acids and having a molecular mass of ~30kD. rHuAng K1-3 is a proteolytic fragment of plasminogen containing the first three kringle structures. It is more active relative to kringles 1-4. rHuAng K1-3 is a specific inhibitor of endothelial cell growth and angiogenesis. It reduces endothelial cell proliferation and acts as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis and tumor growth.

• Biological Activity:Activity is assayed on anti-proliferation and anti-migration of endothelial cells in vitro and anti-angiogenesis in vivo.
• Specific Activity:0.55x10e5U/mg based on anti-migration of endothelial cells in vitro.
• Protein Content:Carried out by two independent methods: 1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm using the absorbency value of 2.08 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (Intelligenetics)
• 2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of Ang K1-3 as a reference.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O, 0.1% BSA. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
