特徴

  • Mycoplasma Removal Agent (MRA) has been developed for cell culture, to combat the widespread problems caused by contamination of cell cultures with mycoplasma.
  • Strong anti-mycoplasma activity for a complete elimination of mycoplasma from contaminated cultures:MRA is a derivative of the quinoline family of antibiotics and eliminates mycoplasma infection by inhibiting mycoplasma DNA gyrase, an essential enzyme for the microorganisms DNA replication.
  • Broad spectrum activity:MRA acts in the cell culture for up to 7 days killing a wide variety of mycoplasma strains. It works at concentrations as low as 0.5ug/ml.
  • Low in cytotoxicity:Cellular toxicity is rare when used at the recommended concentrations. MRA can also be used to avoid mycoplasma contamination as a preventive measure.
  • No recurrence of contamination:Once treated with MRA, a cell culture will not be recontaminated with original mycoplasma while preventative doses of MRA are in use.
  • Easy to use:Add to contaminated cell cultures and incubate for a week.
  • Mycoplasma Removal Agent is very effective at removing mycoplasma from infected cell cultures. It shows a strong anti-mycoplasma activity against many types of mycoplasma including Mycoplasma orale, M. arginini, M. hyorhinis and Acholeplasma laidlawii. MRA is suitable for use after the removal of mycoplasma, to prevent recontamination of the culture with the original mycoplasma, at preventative doses. MRA can also be used to prevent initial infection of cells in culture by mycoplasma. MRA is non-toxic, and will not interfere with the viability or function of cells in culture.
  • MRA is very easy to use, simply requiring incubation for a week after addition to cell cultures contaminated by mycoplasma. It should be emphasized that MRA should not be used as a substitute for good cell culture techniques.
  • Indications for Use:1. Add MRA to cell cultures contaminated by mycoplasma at a concentration of 0.5ug/ml andincubate for a week
  • 2. For media replacement or culture transfer (passage), use a medium containing MRA at thissame concentration
  • 3. Transfer the cell cultures several times without MRA and confirm that regrowth of thecontaminating mycoplasma has not occurred.
  • If there is a concern about the presence of mycoplasma in serum or trypsin, MRA can be added to the media at a concentration of 0.5ug/ml to prevent contamination of the cell cultures exposed to these products.
  • Concentration may be raised up to 1ug/ml only when the recommended concentration is ineffective in removing the mycoplasma. The cytotoxicity of MRA is low and cell toxicity is rare when used at the recommended concentration. For specific function of any cell, however, it is recommended that the retention of desired cellular characteristics be confirmed after treatment.
  • Storage and Stability:MRA is stable at room temperature. Protect from light to prevent decomposition. Stable for 12 months after receipt.
