Caspase-3 is one of the key executioners of apoptosis, being responsible either partially or totally for the proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins such as the nuclear enzyme poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) (1). Activation of caspase-3 requires proteolytic processing of its inactive zymogen into activated p17 and p19 subunits. Cleavage of caspase-3 requires aspartic acid at the P1 position (2).
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking. Not suitable for use in Western Blot due to low molecular weight. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Antibody Blocking (Western Blot): 10ul Peptide per 10ul antibody (C2087-16A) in 10ml Antibody Dilution Buffer. Incubate for 1 hour at RT prior to incubating with Western Blot
Antibody Blocking (Immunohistochemistry): 2ul Peptide per 2ul antibody (C2087-16A) in 96ul Antibody Dilution Buffer. Incubate for 2 hour at 4°C prior to incubating with Western Blot
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for ￥6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
