Integrin alpha V beta 3 was purified from human placenta by affinity chromatography using immobilized monoclonal antibodies to alpha V beta 3 integrin. A tissue detergent extract, which was applied to the column was prepared as previously described (1). It has tested negative for HIV and Hepatitis B.
Applications:Suitable for use in Electrophoresis and as an Immunoblotting control. Also useful for in vitro binding experiments with metalloproteinase MMP-2.
Functional Activity:Confirmed by vWf (von Willibrand factor) binding assay. It is expected that this preparation of alpha V beta 3 integrin will also interact with other alpha V beta 3 binding proteins in an RGD-dependent fashion.
Storage and Stability:Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
