Because of an alanine for serine substitution, this peptide is not a substrate for glycogen synthase kinase 3, but instead serves as a negative control. The peptide is similar to skeletal muscle glycogen synthase; it contains sites 3b and 3c. Site 4, however, is replaced with alanine. This peptide is a negative control for assay of G8170-46 activity. Recommended Dilutions:Protein Phosphorylation Assays: Use at 20-250uM final concentration. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
