Cultural Response:The medium was prepared according to the directions with 5% sheep blood and inoculated with the organisms listed below (10-300cfu). Cultures were incubated aerobically at 35±2°C and examined for growth at 18-24 hours.
Country of Origin:The raw animal product used in the manufacturing of Tryptose Blood Agar Base is derived from casein originating in the USA, New Zealand and/or Australia where there have been no reported cases of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). During processing of the raw material, a batch is heated to a minimum of 80°C for 1 hour including a minimum of 5 minutes at 105°C. The product is then dried at a minimum of 140°C.
