Dehydrated culture media suitable for the microbial assay and detection of antibiotics in milk and plate counts in pharmaceutical products. The activity of an antibiotic can be demonstrated under suitable conditions by its inhibitory effect on organisms.
Components shown as g/liter:Agar 20Dextrose2.5Potassium Phosphate, Dibasic2.5Sodium Chloride5.0Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal3.0Pancreatic Digest of Casein17.0Total:50.0g/liter
Directions per Liter:Dissolve 50 grams per liter of ddH2O. Heat with stirring until dissolved. Dispense into appropriate containers, loosen caps and autoclave (15psi) for 15 minutes at 121ºC.
Storage and Stability:Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept refrigerated and used within a short period of time.
