Filament size 6-0, diameter 0.09-0.11 mm, length 20mm; diameter with coating 0.25 +/- 0.02 mm, suitable for MCAO models in animals within body weight range 60 +/- 10 grams; coating length 9-10 mm, more suitable for skilled surgeons doing permanent MCAO, or shorter (less than 60 min) MCAO followed by reperfusion.
