Filament size 6-0, diameter 0.09-0.11 mm, length 20 mm; diameter with coating 0.23 +/- 0.02 mm, suitable for MCAO models in animals within body weight range 30 +/- 5 grams; coating length 10-11 mm, more suitable for skilled surgeons doing permanent MCAO, or shorter (less than 60 min) MCAO followed by reperfusion.
