Filament size 4-0, diameter 0.19 mm, length 30 mm; diameter with coating 0.43 +/- 0.02 mm, suitable for MCAO models in animals within body weight range 400 +/- 30 grams; suitable for MCAO models in animals within body weight range 400 +/- 30 grams; coating length 9-10 mm, more suitable for skilled surgeons doing permanent MCAO, or shorter (less than 60 min) MCAO followed by reperfusion.
