Stem cell factor (SCF) is a growth factor that is essential for haemopoiesis, melanogenesis and fertility.
SCF is also known as mast cell growth factor (MCGF), steel factor (SLF), or kit ligand (KL).
SCF mediates its biological effects by binding to and activating a receptor tyrosine kinase designated c-Kit or SCF receptor.
SCF induces dimerization of c-Kit followed by trans-autophosphorylation of the cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase domain, leading to subsequent recruitment of signaling proteins, tyrosine phosphorylation of substrates, and activation of multiple signaling pathways.
SCF/c-Kit may take part in the growth control of human malignancies.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Neutralization.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1ug/ml using recombinant human SCF/c-kit LigandNeutralization: Measured by its ability to neutralize SCF/c‑kit Ligand-induced proliferation in the TF‑1 human erythroleukemic cell line.

The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.4-2ug/ml in the presence of 10ng/ml.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
