Forms a channel through the mitochondrial outer membrane that allows diffusion of small hydrophilic molecules.
The channel adopts an open conformation at low or zero membrane potential and a closed conformation at potentials above 30-40 mV.
The open state has a weak anion selectivity whereas the closed state is cation-selective (By similarity).
Involved in plant development at reproductive stage, is important for pollen development and may regulate hydrogen peroxide generation during disease resistance.
Applications:Suitable for use in FLISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
