Its primary target is elastase, but it also has amoderate affinity for plasmin and thrombin.
Irreversibly inhibits trypsin,chymotrypsin and plasminogen activator.
The aberrant form inhibits insulininduced NO synthesis in platelets, decreases coagulation time and has proteolytic activity against insulin and plasmin.Short peptide from AAT:reversible chymotrypsin inhibitor.
It also inhibits elastase, but not trypsin.
Itsmajor physiological function is the protection of the lower respiratory tractagainst proteolytic destruction by human leukocyte elastase (HLE).
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA.

Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
