VCAN is a member of the aggrecan/versican proteoglycan family.
Versican core protein encoded is a large chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan and is a major component of the extracellular matrix.
This protein is involved in cell adhesion, proliferation, proliferation, migration and angiogenesis and plays a central role in tissue morphogenesis and maintenance.
Mutations in this gene are the cause of Wagner syndrome type 1.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:100-1:300ELISA: 1:10,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
