Serpin family B member 8 encoded by SERPINB8 is a member of the ov-serpin family of serine protease inhibitors.
The encoded protein is produced by platelets and can bind to and inhibit the function of furin, a serine protease involved in platelet functions.
In addition, this protein has been found to enhance the mechanical stability of cell-cell adhesion in the skin, and defects in this gene have been associated with an autosomal-recessive form of exfoliative ichthyosis.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
