Among its related pathways are cytoskeleton remodeling neurofilaments and collagen chain trimerization.
PLEC is a prominent member of an important family of structurally and in part functionally related proteins, termed plakins or cytolinkers, that are capable of interlinking different elements of the cytoskeleton.
