PEX14 encodes an essential component of the peroxisomal import machinery.
The protein is integrated into peroxisome membranes with its C-terminal exposed to the cytosol, and interacts with the cytosolic receptor for proteins containing a PTS1 peroxisomal targeting signal.
The protein also functions as a transcriptional corepressor and interacts with a histone deacetylase.
A mutation in PEX14 results in one form of Zellweger syndrome.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
