Periphilin 1 encoded by PPHLN1 is one of the several proteins that become sequentially incorporated into the cornified cell envelope during the terminal differentiation of keratinocyte at the outer layers of epidermis.
Periphilin 1 interacts with periplakin, which is known as a precursor of the cornified cell envelope.
The cellular localization pattern and insolubility of periphilin 1 suggest that it may play a role in epithelial differentiation and contribute to epidermal integrity and barrier formation.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
