PENK(proenkephalin) encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate multiple protein products.
These products include the pentapeptide opioids Met-enkephalin and Leu-enkephalin, which are stored in synaptic vesicles, then released into the synapse where they bind to mu- and delta-opioid receptors to modulate the perception of pain.
Other non-opioid cleavage products may function in distinct biological activities.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:10,000ELISA: 1:10,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
