The protein encoded by PDYN is a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to form the secreted opioid peptides beta-neoendorphin, dynorphin, leu-enkephalin, rimorphin, and leumorphin.
These peptides are ligands for the kappa-type of opioid receptor.
Dynorphin is involved in modulating responses to several psychoactive substances, including cocaine.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for PDYN.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
