Pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) is a mitochondrial multienzyme complex that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate and is one of the major enzymes responsible for the regulation of homeostasis of carbohydrate fuels in mammals.
The enzymatic activity is regulated by a phosphorylation/dephosphorylation cycle.
Phosphorylation of PDH by a specific pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDK) results in inactivation.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for PDK1.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
