NPTX2 (neuronal pentraxin 2) is a protein coding gene.
Diseases associated with NPTX2 include narcolepsy and Kearns-Sayre syndrome.
NPTX2 encodes a member of the family of neuronal petraxins, synaptic proteins that are related to C-reactive protein.
This protein is involved in excitatory synapse formation.
It also plays a role in clustering of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA)-type glutamate receptors at established synapses, resulting in non-apoptotic cell death of dopaminergic nerve cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
