Mox1 encodes a member of the NADPH oxidase family of enzymes responsible for the catalytic one-electron transfer of oxygen to generate superoxide or hydrogen peroxide.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
NOX1 (NADPH oxidase 1) is a protein coding gene.
Diseases associated with NOX1 include retinitis pigmentosa 47 and chronic granulomatous disease.
Among its related pathways are AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications and fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin), ELISA.
