特徴
- KNG1 uses alternative splicing to generate two different proteins- high molecular weight kininogen (HMWK) and low molecular weight kininogen (LMWK).
- HMWK is essential for blood coagulation and assembly of the kallikrein-kinin system.
- Also, bradykinin, a peptide causing numerous physiological effects, is released from HMWK.
- Bradykinin also functions as an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal activity.
- In contrast to HMWK, LMWK is not involved in blood coagulation.
- Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000ELISA: 1:10,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
- Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
- For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
