INSIG2 (Insulin induced gene 2) is a protein coding gene.
Among its related pathways are metabolism and sterol regulatory element-binding proteins (SREBP) signalling.
The protein encoded by INSIG2 is highly similar to the protein product encoded by gene INSIG1.
Both INSIG1 protein and this protein are endoplasmic reticulum proteins that block the processing of sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs) by binding to SREBP cleavage-activating protein (SCAP), and thus prevent SCAP from escorting SREBPs to the golgi.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
