Protein Red encoded by IK was identified by its RED repeat, a stretch of repeated arginine, glutamic acid and aspartic acid residues.
Protein Red localizes to discrete dots within the nucleus, excluding the nucleolus.
Its function is unknown.
IK maps to chromosome 5; however, a pseudogene may exist on chromosome 2.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
