FLT4 encodes a tyrosine kinase receptor for vascular endothelial growth factors C and D.
The protein is thought to be involved in lymphangiogenesis and maintenance of the lymphatic endothelium.
Mutations in this gene cause hereditary lymphedema type IA.
FLT4 (Fms related tyrosine kinase 4) is a protein coding gene.
Diseases associated with FLT4 include lymphedema, hereditary, Ia and hemangioma, capillary infantile.
Among its related pathways are p70S6K signaling and focal adhesion.
