KRT18 encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 18.
Keratin 18, together with its filament partner keratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family.
They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body.
Mutations in KRT18 have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis.
Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for KRT18.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:100-1:300Immunofluorescence: 1:200-1:1000ELISA: 1:5000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
