Carboxypeptidase N is a plasma metallo-protease that cleaves basic amino acids from the C-terminal of peptides and proteins.
The enzyme is important in the regulation of peptides like kinins and anaphylatoxins, and has also been known as kininase-1 and anaphylatoxin inactivator.
This enzyme is a tetramer comprised of two identical regulatory subunits and two identical catalytic subunits; CPN1 encodes the catalytic subunit.
Mutations in CPN1 can be associated with angioedema or chronic urticaria resulting from carboxypeptidase N deficiency.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
