- KRT18 encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 18.
- Keratin 18, together with its filament partner keratin 8, are perhaps the most commonly found members of the intermediate filament gene family.
- They are expressed in single layer epithelial tissues of the body.
- Mutations in KRT18 have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis.
- Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for KRT18.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
- Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
- For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
