CASP2 (caspase 2) encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family.
Caspases mediate cellular apoptosis through the proteolytic cleavage of specific protein substrates.
The encoded protein may function in stress-induced cell death pathways, cell cycle maintenance, and the suppression of tumorigenesis.
Increased expression of CASP2 may play a role in neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and temporal lobe epilepsy.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for CASP2.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
