CALB2 (calbindin 2) encodes an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily.
Members of this protein family have six EF-hand domains which bind calcium.
This protein plays a role in diverse cellular functions, including message targeting and intracellular calcium buffering.
It also functions as a modulator of neuronal excitability, and is a diagnostic marker for some human diseases, including Hirschsprung disease and some cancers.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000ELISA: 1:5000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
