The encoded protein (complement C6) is part of the membrane attack complex that can be incorporated into the cell membrane and cause cell lysis.
Mutations in this gene are associated with complement component-6 deficiency.
Transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
