- BEST2 (bestrophin 2) is a member of the bestrophin gene family of anion channels.
- Bestrophin genes share a similar gene structure with highly conserved exon-intron boundaries, but with distinct 3' ends.
- Bestrophins are transmembrane proteins that contain a homologous region rich in aromatic residues, including an invariant arg-phe-pro motif.
- Mutation in one of the family members (bestrophin 1) is associated with vitelliform macular dystrophy.
- The bestrophin 2 gene is mainly expressed in the retinal pigment epithelium and colon.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:200-1:500Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
- Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
- For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
