Neuronal nAChRs are pentameric structures that can be either homomeric or heteromeric, with heteromeric structures containing both alpha and beta subunits.
Each subunit contains an extracellular N-terminal and four transmembrane domains.
Nicotine is one of the agonists that binds to the receptor.
