The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family.
PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This PTP contains two tandem Src homology-2 domains, which function as phospho- tyrosine binding domains and mediate the interaction of this PTP with its substrates.
This PTP is widely expressed in most tissues and plays a regulatory role in various cell signaling events that are important for a diversity of cell functions, such as mitogenic activation, metabolic control, transcription regulation, and cell migration.
Mutations in this gene are a cause of Noonan syndrome as well as acute myeloid leukemia.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in TBS, 5% milk, 0.1% Tween 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100Immunofluorescence (IF-IC): 1:100-1:500ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
