Catalyzes the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol 5-phosphate (PtdIns5P) on the fourth hydroxyl of the myo-inositol ring, to form phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(4,5)P2).
May exert its function by regulating the levels of PtdIns5P, which functions in the cytosol by increasing AKT activity and in the nucleus signals through ING2.
May regulate the pool of cytosolic PtdIns5P in response to the activation of tyrosine phosphorylation.
May negatively regulate insulin-stimulated glucose uptake by lowering the levels of PtdIns5P.
May be involved in thrombopoiesis, and the terminal maturation of megakaryocytes and regulation of their size.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:1000-1:3000, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in TBS, 5% milk, 0.1% Tween 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight
ELISA (peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
