NADPH-dependent carbonyl reductase/NADP-retinol dehydrogenase, reduces all-trans-retinal and 9-cis retinal.
Can also catalyze the oxidation of all-trans-retinol with NADP as co-factor, but with much lower efficiency.
Reduces alkyl phenyl ketones and alpha-dicarbonyl compounds with aromatic rings, such as pyrimidine-4-aldehyde, 3-benzoylpyridine, 4-benzoylpyridine, menadione and 4-hexanoylpyridine.
Has no activity towards aliphatic aldehydes and ketones.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
