- Gc-globulin (Group-specific component globulin), also known as vitamin D binding protein (DBP), is a multifunctional plasma glycoprotein.
- It has a molecular mass of 51kD and is structually related to serum albumin.
- One of the most important functions of Gc-globulin is to act as an actin scavenger.
- Actin is the most abundant protein in eukaryotic cells and is released into circulation by dying cells.
- Here it form filaments which may trigger intravascular coagulation, if not rapidly removed.
- Source:Goat serum was obtained from healthy animals of US origin and under the care of a registered veterinarian.
- Applications:Applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
