PRTFDC1 belongs to the purine/pyrimidine phosphoribosyltransferase family.
Epigenetic silencing of PRTFDC1 by hypermethylation of the CpG islands leads to a loss of PRTFDC1 function, which might be involved in squamous cell oral carcinogenesis.
