This gene encodes a type I transmembrane protein in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
The protein is an essential component of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-mannosyltransferase I, which transfers the first of the four mannoses in the GPI-anchor precursors during GPI-anchor biosynthesis.
Studies in rat indicate that the protein is translated from a non-AUG translation initiation site.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.

Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
