The homeobox genes encode a highly conserved family of transcription factors that play an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms.
Mammals possess four similar homeobox gene clusters, HOXA, HOXB, HOXC and HOXD, located on different chromosomes, consisting of 9 to 11 genes arranged in tandem.
This gene is one of several homeobox HOXB genes located in a cluster on chromosome 17.
The exact role of this gene has yet to be determined.This gene is a member of the Antp homeobox family and encodes a nuclear protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain.
It is included in a cluster of homeobox B genes located on chromosome 17.
The encoded protein functions as a sequence-specific transcription factor that is involved in lung and gut development.
Increased expression of this gene is associated with a distinct biologic subset of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and the occurrence of bronchopulmonary sequestration (BPS) and congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) tissue.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot.
