- ELOV1 is a condensing enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of both saturated and monounsaturated very long chain fatty acids (VLCFAs).
- It exhibits activity toward saturated C18 to C26 acyl-CoA substrates, with the highest activity towards C22:0 acyl-CoA.
- It is important for saturated C24:0 and monounsaturated C24:1 sphingolipid synthesis.
- Indirectly inhibits RPE65 via production of VLCFAs.
- Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
