The specific function of the protein remains unknown.Three different procarboxypeptidases A and two different procarboxypeptidases B have been isolated.
The B1 and B2 forms differ from each other mainly in isoelectric point.
Carboxypeptidase B1 is a highly tissue-specific protein and is a useful serum marker for acute pancreatitis and dysfunction of pancreatic transplants.
It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
