BAX together with BAK (BCL-2 antagonist or killer), another member of the Bcl-2 family, plays a key role in the intrinsic apoptosis pathway by inducing mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization (MOMP).
This event is aided by BID (BH3-interacting domain death agonist), which activates the two proteins and thereby facilitates the formation of homo- or heterodimers.
Often in the literature, MOMP is regarded as the point of no return upon which a cell is committed to undergo apoptosis.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:400Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
