This gene encodes a DNA glycosylase involved in oxidative DNA damage repair.
The enzyme excises adenine bases from the DNA backbone at sites where adenine is inappropriately paired with guanine, cytosine, or 8-oxo-7,8-dihydroguanine, a major oxidatively damaged DNA lesion.
The protein is localized to the nucleus and mitochondria.
Mutations in this gene result in heritable predisposition to colon and stomach cancer.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000Immunohistochemistry 1:25-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
