HIF-1, a nuclear protein activating gene transcription in response to reduced cellular 02 concentration, activates the transcription of VEGF, EPO, iNOS, heme oxygenase 1 and other intracellular responses critical to hypoxia.
HIF-1 is a heterodimer composed of HIF-1a and HIF-1b subunits.
HIF-1a most closely resembles the Drosophila protein Sim.
HIF-1b is a series of aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator (ARNT) gene products.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
